Special CVAC Baseball Update

Special top 4 updated: I watched the Anderson-Mt. Olive games today and enjoyed them for the most part. Anderson took game one due to the amazing performance on the mound by sophomore Chris Pitts in a 5-2, but Mt. Olive’s bat awoke in game two. They hit five home runs and won 28-7. Game two as a mess and awful too watch. However, game three tomorrow should be a real treat. If you are in the upstate of South Carolina come out to Anderson Memorial and enjoy the game. I also picked up the scores from the Pfeiffer-Belmont Abbey games today. Game one went to Belmont Abbey 8-1, while Pfeiffer took game two 7-3. This means no change in the CVAC top four after today, but tomorrow could means someone drops a spot. With an Anderson win and a Pfeiffer loss the Trojans will slip into third place while the Falcons fall to fourth and it could go the other way. If both teams win or lose Pfeiffer will remain ahead of the Trojans because they own the head-to-head tiebreaker.

On a side note, I would like to congratulate senior second baseman Tony Graham. Graham hit for the cycle in Anderson’s mid-week match up against Southern Wesleyan University.

How cool is this picture taken with my camera phone before the SWU game? A pearl CVAC baseball before the game, and before it gets rubbed up for action. What a beauty!

Carmichael’s First Car Race

Ricky Carmichael raced in Lake City, Florida this past weekend. Carmichael started off showing some fast lap times in practice, but when it came to the main event Carmichael couldn’t pull it together. Carmichael crashed several times in the main which caused his team to call it an early night. At the end of the night Carmichael said that he wasn’t discouraged and he was glad to be there.

Quality Barton Basketball Article

This article is on the CVAC webiste about Barton. The article was written by Charlotte Ovserver writer David Scott. This is by far the best article that I have read about Barton’s national championship season. Scott does a great job of portraying the communities response and the schools response. Scott, I have to agree with; this will put Barton and the CVAC on the map.

The only thing better would be if College Students Got in for Free

Ok so maybe the Bi-lo center is designed for hockey and has the same acoustics as my kitchen sink, but who cares when you get big names to come to your town. So I know we have been on a little country diddy for a couple of updates but hey who cares we are in South Carolina. So what better to talk about then the up and coming Volunteer Tour? The freakin awesome Charlie Daniels Band is coming to Greenville. I dont care who you are if you are looking for a hoot and a half you need to go to this show. If the Charlie Daniels band alone is’nt enough to get you to go, the Marshall Tucker Band is opening for them. So for a good night away from the average rock show, this is where you need to go… Jeff Massey if you are out there reading this I expect to see you there.

So I understand not everyone is on this country kick like me and Tadd, so for you guys there is another Bi-lo center concert that same week Elton John. So the very first concert my parents took me to as a child was the Elton John, Billy Joel concert in Death Valley. It was awesome I still brag about that one. Maybe I disagree with the way Sr.Elton lives his life, but I sure can’t disagree with Lucy in the sky or Benny and the Jets, or My Father’s Gun. If you are looking for an amazing show with a pretty amazing guy/ish, go see Elton. You will not be disappointed (unless it is the acoustics). If you go and you are disappointed tell me afterwords and I will personally give you 10 bucks.

These shows are’nt until April and May but I am excited and I hope you are too

Baseball Week 6

  1. Mt. Olive 13-2
  2. Belmont Abbey 13-5
  3. Pfeiffer 8-7
  4. Anderson 8-7
  5. Erskine 8-10
  6. Barton 7-10
  7. Coker 6-9
  8. Limestone 5-9
  9. St. Andrews 3-12

The big series this past weekend was the Belmont Abbey sweep of Erksine! I said at the beginning of the year that this isn’t the Erskine of old.

There are two huge series this weekend that have Anderson v. Mt. Olive and Pfeiffer v. Belmont Abbey. This has the top for teams in action against each other. Someone is going to get knocked around this weekend in the standings. I will leave you with this–who will fall? You can leave a comment with your answer.

Britney Spears and Coke

Well I never thought that I would write a blog about britney spears. But this is pretty relevant to coke, which i have been blogging about. Apparently Britney is addicted to Coca-Cola and usually drinks up to a case a day- thats 24 cans! I’m sure that can’t be too good for her figure. Her physical appearance hasn’t seemed to matter to her very much lately. I understand that coke is ‘The Real Thing’ and everything and trust me, I love coke, but I think that this might be a little excessive. I think that coke is ok in moderation of 7 to 8 cans a day. :) Maybe 10 on the weekends.

Metal Mulisha Signs Deal With Rockstar Energy

This week Rockstar Energy signed a deal with the Metal Mulisha. The Mulisha consist of freestyle motocross legends, Brian Deegan and Jeremy Stenberg. This is a great collaboration because bouth partys are edgy and love to stand out from the crowd. Deegan said that he was extremely happy to be a part of the Rockstar family.

It’s all about me.

ok so im working on getting the video on my blog, but i’m apparently an incompetent computer user, so here is a video that i find quite humorous–and sadly–it’s true. so many times when we sing songs in worship, the songs we are singing are all about us. Either way, here’s a link to youtube so you can watch this video. (I must warn you, it is incredibly cheesy, but it has a good point).
