Transformers !

I went to see the new transformers movie last night and I was very impressed.  It was a great movie.

Michael Bay actually did something decent for once, well I give credit to Spielberg as executive producer.

The movie features the 76 Camaro as well as the new 2009! It is sheer beauty. You have to go see it if only for the cars.

And might I mention, the new mustang saleen was also in the movie and the camaro totally kicks its ass.

GM on fuel economy

Are speed, power, and torque going to have to be sacrificed for better fuel economy? Let’s hope not! A recent article on GM’s concept for the new camaro discusses the issues on fuel economy and higher standards for new automobiles. However, GM says they do not know how to achieve this with RWD and a V8. Will performance eventually have to be sacrificed? Guess we’ll have to wait and see. Check out the article here.

Fuel Economy

Well it seems to be a hot topic in the world as gas prices continue to rise, fuel economy. How high will gas prices have to go before our government decides that it is time to take action and do something about it. I think it’s about time the politicians stop focusing on getting elected or re-elected and start making progress. When our political leaders spend all their time campaigning for another term or a better position, they are not making hard, relevant, or necessary decisions. Gas prices have continued to rise and fall at totally unexpected rates over the past several years and no one has done anything about it. Gas companies have figured out that they can charge whatever they want for gas and people will still buy it. There are some more fuel efficient cars out there like the toyota prius, but there are enough Suburban’s and Hummer’s out there to out weigh them and then some. I know that they claim to have “technologically advanced” hybrid cars and things of this nature but somehow I cannot believe that as much research and technology that is going into the automotive field that 50 miles per gallon on ONE model of car is the best we can do. I really think that we could easily exceed that in every model of car on the road if we wanted to. I don’t think that power, safety, reliability, or size should have to be sacrificed to have a fuel efficient vehicle. Why aren’t more people concerned about this ? It seems to me that there is a shortage of people in the world who are thinking about things like this and are taking steps to make changes happen rather than just sit around and assume that everything will take care of itself. It’s sickening to me to see how lazy we are and how much control we think we have. People need to wake up and think about where our world is headed if we don’t take steps to change things. Do you care about the issues ?

The entire history of the Chevrolet line has been leading up to this moment, the release of the newest, most efficient, most innovative and functional Chevy Camaro ever. Camaro tradition

This blog isn’t very long, its basically just a hopeful camaro lover discussing the 2008 or 2009 camaro.

But there are tons of comments on this post from people who have driven Camaro’s for many years.

The Chevy Camaro is and will continue to be an American Tradition.

1969 ZL-1 COPO Camaro

In 1969 there was another model of Camaro that was a COPO or Central Office Production Order. This model was the ZL-1.  It featured a 427-cid V8 alluminum engine that weighed only about 500 pounds. This is about the same as a small block 287.  This was a special order and only 69 were produced. Because of the huge increase in cost due to the production of such a great engine, the car almost doubled in cost and was not very successful. Sadly, because many of these cars were used as stock cars, many of them were wrecked and there are not many, actually none that I know of, still around. It is, however; considered to be one of the most sought after and best Camaros that Chevy ever built. I’d love to have one.
